Kindred House
Kindred House is a safe house and resource centre for women and transgendered individuals who are involved in street prostitution. Clients are able to share a nutritious meal, receive information on resources available in the community, and enjoy rest and respite from the street in a non-judgmental and caring environment.
Kindred House Prayer Warrior Ministry
The primary focus of this ten year prayer ministry connects prayer warriors from Sturgeon Valley Baptist Church with women and staff from Kindred House who have indicated that they wish to be prayed for. A prayer warrior makes a one-year, daily commitment to pray for their KH sister. Currently, there are 70 women involved in this ministry.
The secondary focus is to provide the women of KH with homemade meals for many of the holiday seasons (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter and a summer event). This ministry also provides Christmas backpacks, Valentine and Easter gifts, and a summer bag.
