White Cross
White Cross is a compassionate ministry faithfully supported by the women of the North America Baptist Conference. The participants are partnering and assisting our missionaries through the cutting and sewing of baby layettes (blankets, diapers, and jackets). We also include a knitted sweater and toque with each set according to availability. The new moms at our three NAB hospitals in Cameroon and the hospital in Nigeria love these outfits. They are deeply touched and appreciative of these gifts. Bandages and absorbent squares are also made and sent as needed. Sheets and pillow cases, hospital medical supplies, and guest house supplies are provided. To view the White Cross website, please visit http://www.abc-whitecross.org/index.shtml
The hospitals are well known for the excellent and loving care offered at little cost. Patients who lack the means to pay are not turned away. While treating patients our missionaries and staff are also able to share the gospel.
We have a group of women who over the years have faithfully made the outfits at Sturgeon Valley or at home. Students at Elmer S. Gish Logos school and our girls club have been involved in making bandages at different times. Most of the work is done during the winter months.
At present we do not have a coordinator. My prayer is that the Lord will put it on someone’s heart. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
