Ladies Morning Out (LMO)

Whether you’re a young Mom with toddlers, a Mom looking for parenting advice or a mature woman with no children, all are welcome to join us Thursday mornings from 9:00 am to 11:20 am.

This is your invitation to find peace in our troubled world through the Word of God. Please join us in the Fireside Room for a coffee/tea and a snack and enjoy the fellowship and wisdom of other women. Childcare for infants and toddlers is provided, as well as a program for preschool aged children. Don’t forget to register your children for LMO‘s Childcare by downloading the form below. Corporate Prayer

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer” Acts 3:42

In this study we will be devoting ourselves to corporate prayer. We will begin each session with scripture readings and a brief teaching on corporate prayer from the book of Acts. We will then spend the remainder of each class praying together: for each other, our families, our churches, our neighbourhoods, our workplaces, our cities, our province, our nation, the world, and more! For those wanting support and encouragement to study and practice the discipline of Prayer throughout the week, materials and resources will be made available throughout the semester.

Come join us as we commune together with the Father and petition our Amazing God to do what only HE can do!

Life in Exile: An inductive study of 1 Peter

What does it look like to live with gospel hope in a world of suffering? What can we hold onto when the waves of trial and trouble threaten to overwhelm us?  The letter of 1 Peter explores these two truths - that followers of Christ Jesus will certainly face suffering and trials, but that we have new life now and a glorious future inheritance that brings us hope in times of despair and light in times of darkness. Peter wants his readers to live in the truth of their secure salvation and shows them what this looks like practically, exploring themes of holy living, submission, stewardship, and service. This book is an encouragement to any Christian facing suffering or trials of any kind, and calls us to focus the eyes of our heart on the One who is our Living Hope.  

In this class we will be using the inductive study method (observe, interpret, apply) to study the letter of 1 Peter. Questions will be assigned for homework that ask you to look carefully at the text to build your comprehension, and our discussions in class will focus on interpreting and applying the truth that we’ve seen in the passage.

Developing depth in our personal relationship with God is critical to our spiritual health. A growing personal connection to God will produce steadfast faith in the only One who can see us through all of life's ups and downs.

In Fall 2023, SVBC embarked on a journey of church renewal that started with the Abide in Christ material. You have another opportunity to start this study and establish or strengthen a pattern of daily abiding in Christ.
