Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.
~ Psalm 119:105
Fall session begins: Thursday, January 15, 2025
Studies available this winter include:
Little By Little: Discovering Jesus in Mark
Led by: Katy Rogal
Join us for this inductive study of the Gospel of Mark. (Inductive Bible study is a method that encourages individuals to discover the meaning of Scripture for themselves through careful observation, interpretation, and application). This class is designed for those who are new to inductive study, or those who have some of the "tools in their toolbox" but struggle to find the time, motivation, or confidence to dive deep on their own. We will begin with an introduction and refresher on what inductive study is and how to do it, then use our class time to work through the book of Mark in small groups, one short passage at a time. Whether you have no experience with inductive study, or years of experience, there is a place for you in this class. Bring some colored pencils, pens, or thin markers if you have them, but some will be available to share as well.
Cost: $20 for study notebook that has Bible text and room for writing
Homework: None
Continuing Study, open to new registrants:
The Bible Recap by Tara-Leigh Cobble
Led by: Lety Cervantes and Tara Kwasney
In this group we are going to encourage each other to read God’s word each day and then discuss it each week when we meet. We will be using resources from Tara-Leigh Cobble’s The Bible Recap. Our hope is to develop or secure the spiritual practice of reading and reflecting on scripture every day.
Please Note: This group will be continuing from the Fall but anyone can join in. They will be reading Day 119 of the Plan on Thursday, January 15 and continuing from there.
How it works:
- Read: read or listen to the selected passage (about 12 minutes)
- Recap: Listen to the recap that helps explain the scripture you just read. (about 8 minutes) Recap is available via podcast, YouTube video or you can purchase The Bible Recap book and read it there.
- Reflect: You can do your reflections using a regular notebook, or purchase The Bible Recap Study Guide or Journal.
Cost: $0 - $45 depending on the resources you choose
Homework: Yes
Continuing Study, closed to new registrants
