Abraham: Living by Faith on a Rocky Road, with Dr. Charles Price (DVD)
Abraham is one of the leading characters of the Bible but his relationship with God, was a journey. It was neither automatic nor instant, but it was a walk, it was a movement, it was a progression, and so is ours. Charles Price mentions that the movement is not always upwards; sometimes the movement is downwards. And it’s not always forwards; sometimes it’s backwards. It can be a little bit like a game of Snakes and Ladders. You hit a ladder and you feel you are making progress and you're doing well, and suddenly you hit a snake and down you go again. This experience was true for Abraham. We must be grateful for the raw honesty of scripture. The Bible tells us the whole truth about its heroes. Come and learn how Abraham’s story is relevant to our faith walk today.
Revealing the Mysteries of Heaven, with David Jeremiah (study book)
What is heaven like? Where is it? What will we do there? The heroes of Scripture thought of heaven constantly, confessing they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth, seeking a homeland, desiring a better country—a heavenly one—and looking forward to the city with foundations whose builder and maker is God (Hebrews 11:10-16). With the world in so much turmoil, it is important to keep our thoughts focused on eternity. Jesus promised that He was preparing a place in heaven for all people who believed in His name and followed Him. In this study we will learn how to keep our minds up on heaven by searching and studying the Word of God together.
“Thought Renewal Journey,”
Your thoughts affect every part of your being. The Bible says in Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.” So what does it mean to “renew your mind?” Here is an excerpt from the introduction of the study guide: “In this study you will learn that you are a product of your thinking. If you don’t change negative thoughts you can be assured that the thoughts will get you in the end. Whether it is a heart attack, sickness, broken relationships or in my case an emotional and nervous breakdown. Negative self-talk will destroy you. I realized more than ever that if I was to live a long and happy life I was to change my thoughts. To stay well I must measure and monitor my thoughts every day of my life.”
