Yesterday we talked about the reality of the ongoing spiritual battle we face. We learned about our need to take up the fight and use the weapons God provides to wage war. Yet, battles can intimidate and weaken us. Compared to our enemy, we ourselves are weak. Yet we need not fear for we’re not alone in this fight.

So today if you’re facing something that threatens to overwhelm you or you feel too weak to face, let God’s Word encourage you.

1 Samuel 17:47 – “For the battle is the Lord’s and He will give you into our hand.”

2 Chronicles 20:15 – This is what the Lord says to you: “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

2 Chronicles 20:17 – “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Got out to face them tomorrow and the Lord will be with you.”

2 Chronicles 32:7-8 – “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. With him is only the arm of flesh but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.”

Psalm 20:7 – Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

Psalm 24:8 – “Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle!”

Psalm 44:6-7 – “I do not trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies; you put our adversaries to shame.”

“O Lord God, there are times when we feel strong and ready for the battles before us. Yet other times we feel like we can barely breathe let alone fight. So we praise you Lord that you fight for us and wage war in ways we cannot see. Thank you for your constant presence and help for the battles we face today.”
