An evening to slow down, read, and be present!

Take a break from the noise of everyday life and enjoy an evening of quiet reading, good books, and friendly company.

This is a relaxed gathering for anyone who loves to read—or simply wants to make more time for it. Bring whatever you are currently reading — a novel, poetry collection, biography, devotional, theology book, Bible, essay, that half-finished book you keep promising yourself you will finish, or find a book to read at our library.

We will spend most of the evening reading quietly alongside one another, with no assigned reading or expectations. Near the end, we will have an optional, informal book chat where you can share what you are reading, what has caught your attention, and whether you would recommend it.

How the evening will feel:

  • We will arrive, grab a seat, say a few quick hellos, and settle in
  • A warm, welcoming space to slow down and unwind
  • Quiet reading time in the company of others
  • An optional book chat to exchange ideas and discover new reads
  • !No pressure, no preparation, and no required participation

What to Bring

  • Any book, devotional, Bible study, or printed article
  • An e-reader or ebook
  • A notebook or journal if you like to underline, reflect, or jot things down
  • Headphones if you prefer an audiobook

Unplug. Unwind. Read together
