Fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Fall 2022: Resuming September 22nd
Studies available for Fall 2022 are:
Colossians: Rooted in Him
Is Jesus really enough? Isn’t there something more I need to do, or someone else I need to turn to, or something else I need to know? These are the questions that the believers at Colossae were asking themselves, and these are the questions that still tug at our hearts today. Paul had an answer for the Colossians, and he has an answer for us as well!
During this class we will be reading through the book of Colossians, looking carefully at the text using the tools of inductive study, to determine what Paul had to say to the Colossians, and how it applies to us now. There will be assigned readings and questions each week.
The goals of the class include developing practical skills to help you dig deeper in your Bible study time, an increased confidence in your ability to understand the Scriptures, a deeper hunger for God’s word, and an appreciation for the beauty and sufficiency of Christ.
The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus
by John R. Cross
The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus gives a solid overview of the main message of the Bible. It ties together key Old and New Testament stories to reveal the identity of God and the nature of sin, all the time answering two questions: “Who is Jesus?” and “What is the story of the cross and the tomb all about?”. It helps a person clearly understand the main message of Bible.
This study is for those who are new to learning about the Bible and also those who have been attending church for many years. It teaches many different pieces of scripture and shows connections that you may not have realized before. It is also good for parents who want to be able to teach their children how there is one key storyline to the Bible.
Each week there will be a video to watch, some notes and reflections in the workbook, and discussion time.
Praying the Scriptures for Your Adult Children
By Jodie Berndt
In Praying the Scriptures for Your Adult Children, Jodie continues her Praying the Scriptures series with biblical prayers for your adult children, whether they are just leaving the nest, flying well on their own, or struggling to take off at all.
Each section focuses on a different aspect of adulthood, with encouraging stories from experienced parents who are praying their children through rocky marriages, health concerns, financial challenges and other real-life issues. At the end of each chapter, you’ll find personalized prayers for your children taken straight from Scripture. Each chapter also includes verses for you to pray for yourself as you take the challenging step of trusting God to care for your children in ways that you can’t. The goal will be to read one chapter per week and complete some reflection questions in the workbook, which will then be used for discussion.
