Hi everyone: It’s Pastor Tom. Thank you again for your involvement in the ministry and life of SVBC. We really miss getting together and seeing all of you.

Last night our Deacons met online to discuss a possible reopening given the government’s recent directives to “houses of worship.” These directives allow for gatherings up to 50. However, they come with significant restrictions: No congregational singing is allowed; Facilities must be cleaned and disinfected between each worship service; social distancing must be maintained; no socializing is allowed while anyone is in the building.” These are just 4 of the approximately 30 directives the government has placed on any potential worship gatherings.

Since these restrictions eliminate most of what we do as church body when we come together, we decided that the costs outweigh any benefit of starting into worship services at this time.

Therefore, we will continue to livestream our worship service. We will monitor further government updates with a hope that there will be some loosening on these restrictions in the near future. If you have any questions or comments about this, please forward them to one of the church leaders or me.

For now, please carry on with connecting to the livestream on Sundays or to the church office during the week. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together (on livestream). Let us encourage one another as the Lord sees us through this.

Sincerely, PT
